Edward W. CASSADY, 87, of Wellsville, NY, died Monday, May 7, 2018 at his home.
Born June 8, 1930, in Elba, NY, he was the son of Roy and Mary Williams Cassady.
On October 24, 1953, in Wellsville, he married the former Joanne B. McDowell, who predeceased him on November 13, 2016.
A Korean War Veteran, he served honorably with the US Army from 1951 – 1952.
He was employed by Dresser-Rand in Wellsville.
Ed enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren, snowmobiling, farming, carpentry, cutting firewood, reminiscing, cheering for the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills, and was an avid outdoorsman.
Surviving are: a daughter, Debra (James) Maxwell of Wellsville; a granddaughter, Sarah (John) Farrand of Horseheads, NY; a grandson, James Maxwell of Wellsville; two sisters, Gertrude and Doris; nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Marie.
Friends may call Friday, May 11, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home, Wellsville, where Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Daniel Kenyon will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellsville. Military Rites will be accorded by members of Morrison B. Hayes American Legion Post #702.
